A Beard Is Worth A Thousand Words.

Toronto is one of the most multi-cultural cities in the world but if you look hard enough, you can still find people who use typical stereotypes to define people.

In my case, why am I being told that I look like a terrorist just because of my beard? It’s really frustrating if you ask me.

I do like to keep my beard neat and trimmed but with the cold weather falling upon us, I am growing it out so that I can keep my face warm. When I’m in downtown Toronto, I get a ton of compliments on my beard from people that I run into in the morning.

The same cannot be said about what I am hearing in my neighbourhood, I often get teased about how I look like a member of ISIS or Hamas and that I should shave off my beard. How can people’s opinion be so different from one part of the city to another?

My first thought was because the area that I live in is more Eastern European and more conservative while the neighbourhood in which I work in is much more liberal and open. Could that be the reason?

Or could it be because of the constant media attention of the terror group ISIS and the fighters with beards that you see on your TV screens at GoodLife? Personally, I can’t give you an answer.

I don’t take the teasing personally because I am not a terrorist and Islam is not my religion but what about the men who recognize themselves as Muslims? Why are people so quick to say that a person looks like a terrorist just because of his beard?

Thank you for reading.

Ready to Note?

The answer is yes, I am ready to Note!

As you can see from the picture that's posted above this sentence, the Galaxy Note 4 will be unveiled on September 3,2014 which is next Wednesday. I am super excited about the unpacking and I've been constantly checking the Internet (ten times a day) for leaks of what the phone looks like and the features that its going to bring us. I like the recent teaser videos that Samsung released that shows how current professionals are using their Note 3 and how they love their S-Pens.

To share my excitement with the world in hopes that you will become excited as well for the release of this amazing device, here are the four videos that were released earlier this week to promote the event:

This video shows you the "Screen Write" feature where you can take a screen shot of anything on your screen and make notes on it.

This video shows you the "Sketch Book" feature.

This video shows you the "Scrapbook" feature which allows you to save any image, video or webpage to your own scrapbook.

Here are the two videos that appeared last week to confirm the rumors that the Note 4 will be introduced to the world on September 3rd, 2014.

The thing that bothers me about these videos is that the Note 4 is nowhere to be seen! All of these videos are showing Note 3 features, which makes me believe that all of these features will still be part of the Note 4 but will be much improved. I just wish that Samsung or the tech world will give us an official glimpse of the phone and it's features before the official unpacking.

My fingers are now crossed and I am patiently waiting. It's your move, Samsung.

The new Samsung Level Over headphones

The new Level series is the new product line of premium headphones by Samsung. When the product line was first launched, Samsung said that it would only be available in South Korea but it seems like they've changed their minds because they were released in the U.S last week.

I fell upon them when I was looking for leaks related to the Galaxy Note 4 and I fell in love with the flagship model which is the Level "Over" set. The minute that I started watching review videos on YouTube, I knew that I had to get my hands on them.

When I first learned about the price ($349.00 US), I was a shocked that they could ask such a price for a pair of headphones but the reviews helped me understand that these were "premium" headphones and offer features that its competitors don't offer.

Here's a interesting and funny review from Austin Nwachukwu that will tell you everything that you need to know about these headphones.

I've already ordered my pair and I cant wait for them to arrive at my doorstep (Had to order them from Amazon because they're not available in Canada yet). Once I get my hands on them, I'll make sure to post a few pictures of me with them in the near future.

Celebrating Cinco de Mayo

This year, Cinco de Mayo was on a Monday which meant that there wasn't any big parties to celebrate the Mexican holiday. However that did not stop me from going out to grab a burrito with a cold Mexican beer and listen to this Mariachi band all evening!

Rick Ross's new album: Mastermind

Ross's new album has been out for like three weeks now and I've been listening to it non stop!

There's some tracks on there that I always skip when they come on but there's some that I can't help myself but to put them on repeat and jam away.

Here are my four favorite songs from the album:

1) Drug Dealers Dream; This one turns me into a full blown gangsta!

2) Nobody: This song resonates with me because it brings me back to Notorious Big and the golden age of hip hop.

3) War Ready:This one also turns me into a full blown gangsta!  It has the best opening line in the whole album.

4) Sanctified: The best beat on the entire album!

I am really happy with his new album and I can't wait for him to come perform in Toronto!

Cheers!

I am a Samsung Fanatic!

Samsung's marketing always grabs my attention!

From the Note 3, the Galaxy Gear and now their brand new Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, they've always convinced me that I needed to upgrade and buy the new version of the product line.

The most obvious case in which their marketing convinced me to buy their new product was the TV Sport for the Galaxy Gear. When the product first came out, I never even thought of purchasing it because I thought that it was useless but I remember when I was watching the commercials at the office it convinced me to run at the Source to buy the watch.

Don't get me wrong,I am not complaining here because I love their products but do I really need to buy each upgrade that they release for the products that I already own? The answer is no but it's yes.

However marketing is a powerful tool and they already won me over so what can I do? :)
